REGION

thompson okanagan

BC’S YEAR ROUND PLAYGROUND.

Diverse and exciting are a few words that come to mind when describing snowmobile adventures in the Thompson Okanagan region.  Southern riding zones have moderate temperatures, with consistent snowfall throughout the winter with the snowmobile season lasting from about early December to late April.  Areas like Sicamous will see an even longer season, with endless big alpine riding, and fun technical terrain in forest burn areas.

As you travel North towards Valemount and Blue River, the temperatures are usually colder in comparison to the South Okanagan which equates to ample deep dry blower powder and bluebird skies. If a family trail ride is what you’re after, you’re in luck for the Thompson Okanagan offer numerous groomed trail systems with warm up shelters to take the chill off when up in the backcountry.

It is important to support those who maintain and preserve the riding areas in the Thompson Okanagan.  These clubs will be your greatest resource when enjoying the winter backcountry.
